Say Their Names: A tribute to black and brown people killed by police

3 Rutland Street, Springfield, MA

“Say Their Names” was a volunteer community project inspired by the murder of George Floyd. It includes names from the more than 60 unarmed black and brown people who were killed by police in the US from June 1, 2019 to May 31, 2020), and the names of Springfield MA residents who have been killed in interactions with the police. This project was organized by Common Wealth Murals and Art for the Soul Gallery, and hosted by the Martin Luther King Jr. Family Services of Springfield. The mural was designed and painted by internationally-known muralist and graffiti artist Wane One from New York City, with assistance from two additional muralists, Nero and Souls.
